Final Term Week 6

Good morning, Class 2 and all of your families.  I hope you have all had a fantastic weekend.

Welcome to the penultimate week of Home Learning for the Summer Term!

For the final two weeks of term, there will be no set Maths or English tasks.  You may want to complete some of the Home Learning Packs that I have uploaded if you would like something to follow, however I am sure you will find plenty to keep you busy with the topic work. Don't forget to take a look at the PE resources for this week from Derbyshire School Games.  You will find the link right at the bottom of the page.

Our theme for this week is 'Keeping Safe'.  You will find everything you need in the information below.

As always, these are only suggested activities.  You can complete as much or as little as you are comfortable with or you can adapt them or choose to do something of your own.  Please keep sending in photographs of what you have been doing so that we can stay connected and share them with your classmates.

I wonder who will be one of Netherseal's Stars of the Week this week...?

First of all, take a look at this wonderful work produced by Arthur last week.  Arthur has been working hard on his Maths, making Egyptian bread and designing an Egyptian necklace.

Look at this lovely poster produced by Bodhi as part of our RSE theme.

Keeping Safe Week

This week, our school topic theme is ‘Keeping Safe’, focusing on keeping safe online and being sun safe.  There are a range of activities, a creative challenge and an exciting competition for you to enter!

Keeping Safe - Online Safety:

It is really important to keep yourself safe online, particularly while we are using the internet so often for home learning.

Read and complete the online activities for your age group, which can be found in the ‘online safety’ folder.

Additional books, activities and advice can be found on our online safety page

Why not….?

  • complete the fun online safety activity pack
  • follow Digiduck and his pals in a story of friendship and responsibility online.  A brilliant resource to help provoke discussions about online safety and being a good friend online.
  • Read Goldilocks and complete the related activities

Sun Safe Challenge:

Can you find an exciting way of showing what you have learnt from all the sun safe activities you have completed? It could be a poem, a film, a playscript, poster, piece of artwork – the choice is yours!  The more creative the better.  Please send your response to the Sun Safe challenge to headteacher@netherseal.derbyshire.sch.uk

Competition:

For keeping safe week, I thought it would be a nice idea to say thank you to the people that have helped to keep us safe during the Covid-19 pandemic, so please get inventive and design your own badge to say thank you.

Details of the competition can be found by clicking on this link

English and Maths:

As we have reached the last two weeks of term, I thought it would be nice to give you a choice of summer themed English and maths activities to get you in the mood for the summer holiday! There are a lot of activities in the files so you will probably need to take both weeks to complete them all!

Choose which order you would like to do them. I suggest you do one English and one maths activity each day - but it's up to you - you've got lots of fun topic activities to do this week too, so you decide! Remember, you can download and print them or you can copy them out into your maths and English books - don't forget to underline the date and title. Summer's nearly here...

PE with Derbyshire School Games

The School Games Organiser network and Active Derbyshire are working together to create and publish a weekly programme of activities to help children, just like you, to keep active whilst schools are closed and we are having to stay at home.

This week, they have created a series of activities around 'a family sports' day'!

Open the document below to find a daily activity and lots of tips and guidance on how to do it. There's a bit of a quiz to get you started, then each day, you'll find a challenge. If you keep scrolling down, you'll find instructions and helpful diagrams to show you what to do.

Why not involve your family? You can all keep active and get active together?
