Behaviour

St. Peter's is a welcoming school and we are very proud of the behaviour of our pupils. We foster conduct and behaviour guided and rooted in Christian values and together we have a safe, caring community where we value ourselves and respect and care for others and all of God's creation.

School is a calm, well-ordered and purposeful environment where pupils are attentive to their learning, work hard in lessons and behave well. We have a very successful 'Buddy System' in place.

'For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.' Jeremiah 29:1

As part of their ‘Bullying Matters’ topic, Class 2 explored what bullying is and developed a class definition:

Bullying is doing or saying something unkind several times (more than once or twice) on purpose. It is planned and aimed at people who have less power.

One year 6 pupil said, "We don't have bullying here - but we know what it would look like because we learn about it."

Another designed a slogan for an anti-bullying campaign: 'No one heals themselves by wounding another.'

We believe that all pupils have the right to learn in a safe environment and that in order to enable effective teaching and learning to take place, everyone must behave with courtesy and respect for each other at all times.
