Final Term Week 2

Hi Class 1,

I hope you had a lovely weekend, despite the weather.  Did you get a certificate for your work last week?  It was so hard to choose, as you have all been doing an amazing job!  Well done to those of you who did and for those of you who didn't, maybe you will receive one this week.  Maybe it will be for a previous piece of work, your continuous effort, your presentation or even for something you send me this week...so keep sending me your work and maybe you will also be selected as one of our 'Netherseal Stars of the week'.

Have a lovely week and enjoy your home learning.

Miss Halsey

Look at the lovely art work that our class produced last week:

I hope Year 5 enjoyed finding out about the properties of 3D shapes last week.  I am glad to see that we are still making sure our work is beautifully presented.

Here are some examples of English/Topic work from last week:

Keep sending me your work. I love to see what you have been up to.

Year 6 - I know a lot of you are thinking about secondary school and that this year, in the current situation, transition is going to be different.  Remember, if I can help in any way, then please get in contact with me via Mrs Machell.  However, I am currently in the process of putting together a page of resources and links to help support you with your transition to secondary school, so make sure you keep checking the link below:

Friday

Well done for another week of home learning!  I have received lots of fantastic work, which I will display for you all to see on our home learning page next week.  If you haven't had chance to send me some of your work yet this week, it is not too late! I would love to see what you have been up to and share it with the rest of the class.  Well done to those of you who received a certificate for your home learning.  Visit 'Netherseal Stars of the Week' to see who they are this week.

Maths:

Y5 – Today I thought we would try something a little different. Visit the website below:

http://www.iseemaths.com/lessons56/

There are a range of Y5/6 mathematical challenges, in the form of videos, focusing on different areas of mathematics, so choose which area you would like to focus on, watch the video, pause to complete the challenges and listen to the explanations to see if you are right. You might like to choose one or you might choose to work your way through several – the choice is yours! Record your answers in your maths books. Remember the short date and the title Mathematical Video Challenges. Then use the name of the video challenge/challenges as your sub headings. Remember, these should also be underlined with a ruler.

Y6 – Continue and complete your maths work on multiples, factors and primes. Don’t forget there are also some related online quizzes to complete, if you have finished the uploaded questions.

Which features have you included?

Which do you now need to add in/make sure you need to include next time?

Either print off and complete the success criteria and attach it to your piece of work, or record your self-assessment under your piece of writing, using stars for things you think you have done well and an arrow for a wish for next time
